First Ever All Southern Gospel Multicast Station
October 14, 2008- Springfield Ohio- In an attempt to increase the audience and influence of Southern Gospel music across the Dayton Ohio region and nationally, WEEC 100.7 FM HD-2 has become the first multicast station to program the Southern Gospel format.
The programming is music intensive and provides a digital companion 24/7 on the radio and streaming online at the station website www.weec.org. According to Program Director Chris Grindrod, “October is a huge month for the station. Lots of giveaways and the addition of some high quality specialty programs that enhances the listening experience and provides the biggest variety of Southern Gospel around” This HD channel offers current songs from the Singing News magazine charts and also offers gold and classics from several decades and serves as a slice of music history and influence. WEEC FM is a listener supported non commercial outreach and has been exploring new territories of compelling ministry since it’s inception in 1961. WEEC is the second Christian station in the state of Ohio to embrace HD radio and pursues meaningful ministry relationships through it’s connection with Strong Tower Ministries, incorporated in 2007.
